Phoenix Park

The Phoenix Park (Irish: Páirc an Fhionn-Uisce) is the largest enclosed urban public park in Europe located 3 km to the north west of Dublin city centre in Ireland. It measures 712 hectares (1,760 acres), with a walled circumference of 16 km that contains large areas of grassland and tree-lined avenues. The park is home to a herd of wild Fallow deer since the seventeenth century.

Fernhill is a garden where the plants come first, not the architecture. Covering some forty acres in a superb location overlooking Dublin Bay, it contains a comprehensive collection of trees and shrubs in an informal 'Robinsonian' layout that adapts the plants to the terrain.

St Stephen's Green

Probably Ireland's best known Victorian public park. This 9 hectare park is a sanctuary from the bustle of the city streets with tree lined walks, shrubberies, colourful flowerbeds, herbaceous borders and an ornamental lake. There are lunchtime concerts in the summer months.

Garden of Remembrance

The Garden of Remembrance designed by Dáithí Hanly, was opened in 1966 by President de Valera on the fiftieth anniversary of the Easter Rising. The Garden of Remembrance also marks the spot where several leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising were held overnight before being taken to Kilmainham Gaol. It is in the form of a sunken cruciform water-feature.
