The Dead Weather To Broadcast First Uk Performance Live On Mobile Phones

The Dead Weather To Broadcast First Uk Performance Live On Mobile Phones
Published 17th Jun 2009 by Nikolai

From the Basement brings you the UK’s first performance by explosive new rock four piece The Dead Weather on 22nd June at 9pm. The set will be streamed live online at www.ftblive.com and to mobile, online as it happens with Nokia N97.

Rounder Records will also be hosting one of the exclusive live streams in-store on Monday 22nd @ 9pm.

Fronted by The Kills’ Alison Mosshart and joined by Jack White of The White Stripes/The Raconteurs on drums/vocals, The Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence on bass and Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita on guitar, The Dead Weather are a brutal & vibrant addition to today’s rock scene.

Set up by record producer, Nigel Godrich, From the Basement delivers intimate live music performances from some of the world’s most talented musicians. These gigs offer a true representation of the artist’s work with no presenters, no audience, just the music. Previous acts include The White Stripes, Radiohead, Iggy Pop, Gnarls Barkley, Sonic Youth, Beck and Fleet Foxes.

The online performance will be the first time ‘The Dead Weather’ have played as a group for UK audiences and will act as a preview to their sold out UK live debut at The HMV Forum, Kentish Town, on Wednesday 24th June. Their self-produced album ‘Horehound’, is the first to be recorded and released via Jack White’s new Third Man studios & record label in Nashville, TN. ‘Horehound’ is set for release in the UK on 13th July through Third Man / Columbia Records and includes the singles ‘Hang You From the Heavens’ & ‘Treat Me Like Your Mother’.

This intimate experience will be precluded by exclusive live content at www.ftblive.com in the two weeks before the show. Images and editorial will give fans a unique insight into behind the scenes with The Dead Weather before their UK launch. They’ll also get to look behind the curtain with the From the Basement team.

From the Basement are working with Nokia and their new Nokia N97 to deliver the live gig. The device features a customisable home screen with the ability to fully customise layout with live feeds, mini views and services such as Facebook, email, weather and Ovi Store.
