Take Back Sundays at The Pod
By Amanda 16th Jun 2008
Take Back Sundays is a new weekly adventure in The Pod brought to you by the good people behind Antics and ClimaXXX. Sick of having nowhere to go on a Sunday night and in homage to the good ol' days when Sundays were known as one of the best nights out in the city, we have decided to take matters into our own hands and return the energy to a once notorious night out. A night where you can be guaranteed not just quality music 'till late but also the unique care free atmosphere that only comes from dancing your Sunday away.
Music comes from Chewy and the CLIMAXXX Djs who have already been causing quite a stir on the scene, delivering rump shaking sets all over the city. They will crash land in the infamous Pod club room every week with a BANG. Dishing out a blend of the best in worldwide sounds like Baltimore and Baile Funk with the bounciest, bassiest electro and the odd 80s or 90s gems to make a party like you've never heard before. Expect lots of ass-shaking beats, ghetto speak and bass so low it makes your hips wiggle and cheeks jiggle.
They take a no nonsense approach to music, just good old fashioned party tunes in a fun-time environment, kranked up and jacked out.
Check out the blog at http://climaxxxblog.blogspot.com/ for a taste of what to expect, as well as MP3s, gig info and DJ sets from around the world.
Sundays have been too quiet for too long so we've decided to take them back and offer up a great club night for anybody who refuses to let the weekend die. With great music delivered in an energetic atmosphere as well as great drinks deals and free entry before midnight, this is the perfect way to cap off any week, or to mark the begining of a new one.
Free before 12, €8 after, Doors 11-2.30, Selected Pints €3, Vodka Burn €3, Hog Bombs €3.
