Samhain Halloween Parade 2007

Samhain Halloween Parade 2007
Published 8th Aug 2007 by Connie Mas

Dublin really goes to town with its Halloween celebrations with the entire city seemingly donning ghoulish costumes and make-up and taking to the streets, all done with a unique Celtic twist. The parade begins in Parnell Square and makes its way through the city before ending up in the city’s artistic Temple Bar quarter. Like all good festivals, celebrations come to an end with a spectacular fireworks display. Samhain refers to the Celtic division of the year into two seasons, samhain literally meaning “summers end”, and has always traditionally been marked with bonfires and celebrations. Times: usually 19 - 21 hrs, october the 31st.
