Russell Brand @ The National Stadium
Published 7th May 2007 by Amanda
Russell Brand will perform for one night only at The National Stadium Dublin on Friday July 27th 2007, tickets for this show are on sale now from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide priced at €40.20 incl. booking fee. Russell Brand is the ringleader of new British comedy. Having triumphantly hosted this year's BRIT Awards, the critically acclaimed funnyman will spin theatre audiences on their axis with a brand new show.
To realise just how big a star Brand is about to be, you have to see his live show. Clearly the most talented stand-up comedian to emerge in Britain so far this decade, Brand combines Eddie Izzard's rare ability to carry a crowd along on an audacious flight of comic fancy with the carnal magnetism of the young George Best" – Telegraph Magazine
"Bracingly intelligent and delivered from the heart" **** The Times
2007 promises to be Russell's busiest year yet. Fresh from hosting this year's BRIT Awards and co-presenting Comic Relief, Russell can be seen in the forthcoming Reese Witherspoon film 'Penelope'. He will also appear in the 'Forgetting Sarah Marshal', the forthcoming ITV series 'Cold Blood' and the eagerly awaited film 'St Trinian's' opposite Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Stephen Fry and Emily Watson. He is also working on a new Channel 4 series for the autumn.
Last month, Russell won an award for best UK performer in a non-acting role at the Broadcasting Press Guild's 33rd annual Television and Radio Awards. Previous awards he has received include Time Out's Stand-Up Comedian of the Year (2006), Loaded Lafta Awards' Funniest Man and Best Newcomer at the 2006 British Comedy Awards. He was also named GQ's Most Stylish Man of the Year, 2006.
His illustrious career includes E4's Big Brother's Big Mouth, C4's The Russell Brand Show as well as MTV's 1 Leicester Square. This year he also began 6Music's Sunday morning slot, which increased audience ratings by 40%. He is now the newest prime-time recruit for Radio 2 - the UK's most popular radio station.
One of the UK's most successful and beloved young performers, the multi-award-winning, critically acclaimed talent takes his wit to the masses once again a live show, which should not be missed!
